Llewellyn Herbert

Llewellyn Herbert ( born July 21, 1977 in Bethal, Mpumalanga) is a South African hurdler who specialized discipline is the 400 - meter track.

Even as a 19 - year-old he participated in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta in part, but failed in the flow. Shortly thereafter, he became vice world champion in the junior category, and the following year he won the silver medal at the World Championships in Athens and the gold medal at the Universiade.

At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he won the bronze medal behind Angelo Taylor ( USA) and Hadi Al- Soua'an Somaily ( KSA).

2002 and 2004 he was African champions at the 2003 World Championships in Paris, he was lying on a medal position, because of a fall at the last hurdle eighth.

Herbert had to be a habit with the presentation of the athletes immediately before the start with his back to the direction and its starting block.
