Holes Kogel from east

The holes Kogel is a mountain of the rear Kaunergrat, a mountain range of the Ötztal Alps. Together with Wurmtaler head, Hapmesköpfen and Grubenkarspitze he defines the large glacial cirque of Rifflferners, at the north side it is. It has a steep dome-like summit area, and set you apart aesthetically, among other mountains. To the north lie the K2 and it only slightly superior Rostizkogel. After the holes Kogel also the glaciers of the high region are named. Just north of his SO- ridge lies the southern holes Furthermore, while middle and northern holes Furthermore lie with the Rostizkogel. Routes

There are multiple routes lead to the summit of the mountain. The most important are:

• From the North: From the Pitztal and Kaunertal on the Rostizjoch. About the north ridge to the summit moderately difficult (II )
• From the South: From Rifflsee on the Offenbacher trail into Rifflkar and the Moränenhalden far behind. When the glacier stream branch ( " Holes " ) right off the path and along the glacial streams and rocky terraces on the curve to the north around the northern basin of the Rifflferner. About the addition below the steep, rocky south flank of the mountain. Well over steep rock and debris to the summit structure of the holes Kogel, which one ascends from the east via the East Ridge.
• From the Southeast (almost ice-free way ): As with the above directions to the edge of Rifflferners. About the steep cliff edge ( sometimes fragile, sometimes catchy rock) up to the ridge over the eastern ridge mostly mild with some workarounds in the south to the steep towering peak structure and grippy rock to the summit with Steinmann.
