Lodewijk de Vadder

Lodewijk de Vadder also Lodewyk de Vadder ( baptized on 8 April 1605 Grimbergen, † August 10 1655 in Brussels) was a Flemish landscape painter, draftsman and engraver of the Baroque period.

Life

Hailing from a family of artists ( his two brothers, Hubert de Vadder and Philip de Vadder were also a painter ) 1628 Member of the Guild of St Luke, the guild of painters in Brussels. He developed into one of the most important landscape painter of his time. In addition, however Zinner made also, also predominantly with natural motifs, drawings and engravings. He also created numerous templates for various Wall Murals Brussels and tapestry manufacturers.
