Logar Province

Lugar, alternatively Lo (w) g ( h) ar or La ( w) g ( h) ar لوګر (depending, either with or without the letters in brackets ), Pashtun, Dari لوگر, is one of the 34 Afghan provinces. Covering an area of ​​approximately 3,900 km ² live about 410,000 inhabitants. The provincial capital is Pul-i - Alam. The province is inhabited by Pashtuns.

Naming

Possibly, the name Ligar goes back to the term " Loy - Ghar " from the Pashtun language. Here it means as much as " Big Mountain".

Geography

The province flows from south to north of the river Lugar. Approximately in the middle of the province, where the Lugar joins an incoming flow from the west, are the capital Pul-i - Alam and other towns.
