The Lögdeälven (also Lögde älv ) is an approximately 200 km long river in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County.

The river is only slightly influenced by people, there are no dams or hydroelectric power plants in its course, which is rare in northern Swedish rivers. That's why he was declared along with some of the tributaries of the Swedish Government to the Natura 2000 site.

Geography

The river rises on the Stöttingfjället, a high plateau at an altitude of 400 to 700 meters above sea level in southern Lapland. It is the watershed between the Lögdeälven and the Ångermanälven on the south side and between the Umeälven and the Öreälven in the north. The valley of the Lögdeälven has many different landforms. It was created after the last ice age, the Weichsel glaciation. The gorge in which the river flows is, sometimes up to 60 meters deep, some of the flow is also very slow flowing and forming backwaters.
