Lohner L
The Lohner Type L was a continuous tape as a biplane flying boat of the Lohner -Werke.
As a further development of the Lohner E type he had a stronger Austro- Daimler engine. The engine was mounted on struts between the wings and drove a pusher propeller. By 1916, the Type L of Austria - Hungary was used as a reconnaissance and bomber aircraft. From 1916 he was initially supplemented by the Hansa -Brandenburg K and Hansa -Brandenburg KG Hansa -Brandenburg and later largely replaced.
On May 27, 1915, Italian armed forces dropped a Lohner Type L ( identifier L.40 ) into their hands. The company Nieuport - Macchi received the order a copy of the loot machine manufacture. The first copy was completed in June 1915, and received the designation L.1 to make his Origin of Lohner significantly. The k.u.k. Flying boat L 127 is located, perfectly restored, in the Italian Aviation Museum Vigna di Valle Lake Bracciano.
