Lois Lowry

Lois Lowry ( born March 20, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii as Lois Ann Hammerburg ) is an American author of numerous children 's books, such as custodians of Remembrance ( engl. The Giver ).

Her father was a military dentist who moved frequently. Lowry grew up among others in New York, Pennsylvania and Tokyo. At the age of 19 she married an officer. Lois Lowry has four children.
