Lok Sabha

The Lok Sabha (Hindi: लोक सभा Lok Sabha [lo ː k sʌb ʱ ɑ ] " People's Assembly " ) is the lower house of the Indian Parliament. In the legislature, it is the upper house - the Rajya Sabha - equal. Exception is the fiscal policy in the House of Commons shall take precedence. In various voting results, there is a joint meeting of both houses - however, since the House has more than twice as many members, it is in fact the determining force in polls.

The Lok Sabha has 552 members and is therefore based on the population size of the smallest representation of the people of the world. Deputies are elected directly every five years in majoritarian (530 in the Indian states, a further 20 in the Union Territories, and two members shall be appointed by the President of India to the Anglo- Indian community to adequately represent ). Minimum age for eligibility for election is 25 years. The election to the 15th Lok Sabha took place between 16 April and 13 May 2009, which before that in April 2004.
