The London Knights were a professional ice hockey team from London, UK, who played in the Ice Hockey Super League from 1998 to 2003.

History

Was the owner of the London Knights, the Anschutz Entertainment Group to the American billionaire Philip F. Anschutz, of a number of sports franchises and arenas, such as the Hamburg Freezers, polar bears Berlin, Los Angeles Galaxy or the The O ₂ Millennium Dome or the Color Line Arena belong.

After the founding of the Knights in 1998 they succeeded in their second season, the 1999/2000 season, head coach Chris McSorley winning the British Ice Hockey Championship. In the following season they were the first team from the UK, which could reach a final of the IIHF Continental Cup. After a narrow defeat to eventual winners, the ZSC Lions, and two wins against HC Slovan Bratislava and Munich Barons, the team took second place in the final round.

After the Ice Hockey Superleague was superseded by the newly formed Elite Ice Hockey League 2003 constituted the London Knights their gaming operations until further notice, which 12,500 -seat home London Arena was sold.
