Long John Silver's

Long John Silver's is a company specializing in fish and seafood fast food chain that operates stores primarily in the USA, but also in other countries around the world. On offer are especially fried fish, seafood and side dishes such as Hushpuppy and coleslaw, sandwiches, fried pieces of lobster and chicken products.

The chain was from 2002 to 2011 in addition to Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell Yum! Brands.

The name of the brand was Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson borrowed from the novel in which the pirate Long John Silver is one of the main actors.

Branches

Long John Silver 's operates worldwide in 2010 1200 stores, plus more than 200 offices in houses with branches of other brands of Yum Brands! . Most companies in the chain are located in the United States. In New Zealand, there were 14 branches in 2010. These also have regional fish on their menu. In Singapore, there were 31 stores in the same year, also in Taiwan, there are several branches. A restaurant in the UK was first operated by Long John Silver's, but then adopted because of poor sales success of sister company Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Other expansion attempts failed, so a restaurant in Australia and experiments of the 1970s to the 1990s, to establish themselves in Canada. Until the mid- 1990s all existing restaurants there were closed again. Two other, founded in 2006, stores were also closed again.
