Longkaikou Dam

The Longkaikou Dam is an under construction dam on the Jinsha Jiang at Lijiang in Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China. The dam is a 119 m high concrete gravity dam ( according to other sources 113 m ) of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC ). Construction began in 2007 and were interrupted in June 2009 by the Ministry of the Environment because it was built without environmental assessment and without permission. For the reservoir about 2000 people have to be relocated. In the reservoir, there will be a fish production.

In hydroelectric power station drive five turbines each have a generator with 360 MW each. Thus, the overall performance of the plant is 1800 MW. Thus, 7.82 billion kWh of energy can be produced in an average year.
