Longmorn

Longmorn is a whiskey distillery in Elgin, Scotland, UK.

History

The distillery was founded in 1894 by John Duff ( Glenlossie ), Charles Shirres and George Thomas. In 1972 the number of stills from four to six, and in 1974 by six was increased to eight. In 1978, the distillery in the possession of Seagram and since 2001 it belongs to Pernod Ricard.

Longmorn is one of the main components of the blend Chivas Regal.

Production

The water belonging to the Speyside distillery dates back to the Burnside sources. It has a mash tun ( mash do ) (7.5 t), eight fermentation tanks (wash backs) douglas-fir ( per 21,262 liters) and five stainless steel (depending 42,500 l ), four wash stills ( per 16,820 liters) and four spirit stills (3 x 15,000 l, 1 × 13 638 l) which are heated with steam only since 1993.
