Dissemination

The Slender winged horse fish comes close to the ground at depths of one to 73 meters (usually 9 to 27 meters) in the Indo-Pacific from the coast of East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula across the Gulf of Mannar, the Bay of Bengal north to Japan, south to the coast of tropical Australia and New Guinea and in the Persian Gulf before.

Way of life

The fish live on sandy and muddy bottoms in bays and estuaries. You can "walk" with the help of her belly spines above the sea floor. Sometimes they bury themselves partially into the ground. Juveniles, which are widely drifted during their pelagic stage, are also found in subtropical regions. Slender wing Ross fish are rare.
