Loose Moose Theatre

The Loose Moose Theatre Company ( LMTC ) (Eng. about the released elk), in Calgary, Canada is a theater group that was founded in 1977 by Keith Johnstone and the vet Mel Tonken. The LMTC, which is internationally known for improvisational theater, developed under the direction of Keith Johnstone Improvisation multiple formats including theater sports, Micetro, Gorilla Theatre, and Life Game.

The LMTC plays in-house and on tour. It provides further a training center for improvisational theater. They produce long been a children's theater series at the weekends and a number improvised comic theater. Further, they lead to different based on improvisation plays. In March 2010, the International Summit improvisation and improvisation marathon was held, which was 52 hours, the longest of its kind.

Initially they resided in the Pumphouse Theatre. Then they moved into a room in an industrial complex in the North West of Calgary, near the airport. For lack of space and because of failed Pachtverhanddlungen the LMTC moved into the historic Garry Theatre in Inglewood district. 2005 involved the LMTC a new performance space in Calgary Crossroads Market.
