Loremo

Loremo is the name of an automobile draft of the Loremo AG. A start of production was announced several times since 2001, but not implemented.

Loremo is an acronym composed of Low Resistance and mobile. There is a prototype of the car. So far, the general public could examine no roadworthy copy, as always in the last moments alleged misadventures this prevented, for example, on May 11, 2009 in Marl. Since summer 2010, there is the company at the Marl site no longer. Whether it will ever come to a production of the Loremo is completely unclear.

History

The idea for such a vehicle is from the year 1993, was initiated by Ulrich Sommer. The development was started in 1995. Originally, the basic model should make do with 1.5 liters of diesel per 100 km and are offered at a price of around 11,000 euros.

2008, the former head and co-founder Gerhard Heilmaier and a little later the co-founder Stefan Ruetz dropped out at the Loremo. New chief was Thomas Zollhöfer. The company's founder and initiator of the project, Ulrich Sommer, retired in October 2009 from the company.

2009, the concept was developed by the initiative " Germany - Land of Ideas".

On December 15, 2011, changed the share situation, an unnamed shareholder acquired more than 50 percent of the shares in the Loremo AG. This shareholder brought his company shares in the newly established Loremo Holdings Corp.. with a seat in Dorsten.

On December 10, 2012 it was announced that due to the restructuring of the German Stock Exchange, the shares of Loremo Holdings Corp.. expected to be withdrawn from the market on December 15, 2012. After planning of Loremo should be resumed in another commercial segment between the first and second quarter of 2013 the trade. This has not occurred (as of early September 2013).

History of development

The Loremo should be developed according to its engineers with the aim depending on the model 1.5 liter diesel, 3 liters of gasoline or 6 kWh per 100 km to consume.

The first time the Loremo at the IAA should be presented in Frankfurt in 2001, a model but was shown in 2006 at the Geneva Motor Show, the delay was explained that a major investor had withdrawn. The model shown in Geneva had neither suspension nor motor. The first (and as it later turned out, only ) roadworthy prototype was at the IAA 2007., The manufacturer claimed to have consumed less than 2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers on test drives. Later it became known that no vehicle was built with a diesel engine. There is a video that - some with time-lapse video - a moving Loremo shows. 2008 said Ulrich Sommer that consumption would increase to 2 liters per 100 kilometers by an increase of the vehicle and the displacement to 700 cc.

On 11 April 2009, the Loremo EV will be driven for the first time on public roads with electric drive. It should, according to company data speeds of up to nearly 100 km / h have been achieved.

In July 2010 it was announced that only a driving prototype and an inoperable model of the Loremo exist. The prototype level since October 2009 as a pawn in a workshop in Dorsten- city field, the use made ​​of their workshop lien because the Loremo AG had not paid outstanding bills for the work on the vehicle. Financing of the project

In early 2006, the Malaysian company Kosmo Motors Company participated by paying the equivalent of about 2 million euros to 26% of the company Loremo.

After the Loremo AG were offered significantly better funding opportunities in North Rhine -Westphalia in Bavaria, the company moved to NRW. There, the project was supported, according to a spokesman for the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Economic Affairs of EU funding of technology and innovation program with 2.3 million euros.

On April 15, 2009, Loremo AG published an investment prospectus for subscription of new shares. Thus were for concept development, after the prototypes for all three drive types ( diesel, gasoline and electricity ) should be presented in 2009 to around 4 million euros needed (as of June 8, 2009 ).
