Loretta Lux

Loretta Lux (born 1969 in Dresden) is a German painter and photographer.

Life

In 1989 she moved, a few months before the fall of the Berlin Wall, to Munich. Previously, it had been denied her in the GDR, to study art. From 1990 to 1996 she studied with Professor Gerd Winner painting and graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. The artist is best known for her surrealist photographs of children. Her works include portraits and full body shots, the images look very staged and the models are made ​​strongly to the fore often faced with pastel-colored backgrounds. It is for their pictures a manner typical editing, photography, painting and digital image manipulation and includes combined. Your images look more timeless by the chosen accessories and the clothes of the models. The artist is influenced not only by photographers, but also by the painting, which she combines this with each other in their works. Lux is now well known outside Germany, especially in the UK and the U.S., it gets a lot of attention, which is reflected in numerous reports and publications in various news and trade magazines. In addition, their works are in numerous public collections worldwide.

She now lives and works in Monaco Loretta Lux.
