Loro Piana

The Loro Piana SpA Headquartered in Quarona is an Italian fashion company was founded in 1924, which established initially fine wool fabrics and yarns. Company History

Originally from Trivero, members of the Loro Piana family started under the direction of Giacomo Loro Piana in 1812 as merchants in the trade of woolen fabrics. In the second half of the century they moved their operation after Valsesia. In April 1924 finally founded Pietro Loro Piana in Quarona Biella at the present company. Mid-1940s, began his nephew Franco Loro Piana through the export of wool fabrics with international expansion. His sons Sergio ( born May 24, 1948 † December 20, 2013 ) and Pier Luigi Loro Piana ( b. 1951 ) took over in 1975 the management of the company. In 2008 the company was ranked with a value of nearly 430 million euros. The annual turnover in 2012 of the Loro Piana SpA amounted to around 630 million euros on a turnover increase of 13 % compared to the previous year.

In July 2013, the French luxury goods group LVMH took over for two billion euros a share of 80% in Loro Piana. The remaining 20 % will remain with Sergio († December 19, 2013 ) and Pier Luigi Loro Piana, who continue to hold the company's management. In December 2013 appointed LVMH Antoine Arnault, son of CEOs, as the new President of the Board of Loro Piana.
