Losenrade is a district of the city Seehausen ( Altmark) in the district of Stendal, in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

The community Losenrade lies on the Elbe River in the extreme north of the county or of the state of Saxony- Anhalt. On the opposite, northern side of the river lies the Brandenburg town of Wittenberg.

History

The place Losenrade arose during the period of colonization by the Marquis of Altmark Albert the Bear and was first in 1259 in connection with a foundation of the Noble Johann Goose at the monastery Stepenitz - mentioned Marienfließ.

Until December 31, 2009 Losenrade was an independent municipality with the associated living quarters Eicker yards and Steinfelde and belonged to the defunct administrative community Seehausen (Altmark ) on.

Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities Beuster decided ( 8 June 2009 ), Geestgottberg ( 9 June 2009 ), Losenrade ( 22 June 2009 ) and the Hanseatic city Seehausen (Altmark ) ( 29 June 2009 ) that dissolved their communities and to form a new municipality with the name Hanseatic City Seehausen (Altmark ) were combined. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

Traffic

In the neighboring village of Geestgottberg is connected to the national road 189 and the Magdeburg -Wittenberg Ash railway.
