Lost Horizon (Band)

Lost Horizon (English for " Lost Horizon ") is a power metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden.

History

In 1990, future Hammerfall members founded the band Highlander, which put on ice in 1994, and was reactivated late nineties. 1998 renamed in Lost Horizon, the band consisted now Christian Nyquist, Wojtek Lisicki and Martin Furängen (both formerly Luciferion ). After 2 years of preparation and goal setting, the band began with the first demo recordings, in the same period was joined by singer Daniel Heiman. After the recordings were completed, expressed many record label interest in a contract; it was decided to Music for Nations. In the period from March to August 2000, the debut album Awakening the World was recorded, which was released a year later ( 2001). Within a few months, the album has sold more than 200,000 times and the band were a large number of interviews without having to be preceded on tour. There followed a string of gigs across Europe.

In January 2002, Lost Horizon began work on their second album, A Flame to the Ground Beneath, which finished in May of the same year and was released in 2003. The success of the debut despite describe the band members their second plant as mature. Immediately after the publication Lisicki left the band to rejoin her in 2004. Heiman and Olsson, however, returned Lost Horizon finally back and in turn founded Heed. The loss of members brought the progression of the band to a halt until you get back together in 2008 and found himself in -house production ( without a label ) songs for a new album recorded. The completion of the recordings is so far the fact in the way that a new singer was not found.

Style

The band play the European version of epic power metal with strong influences. A certain social engagement see band members in their lyrics, which are intended to strengthen the listener emotionally and be aimed particularly at people who are in a crisis.
