Louis Augustus Karl Frederick Emil, Duke of Anhalt-Köthen

Ludwig August Friedrich Emil, Duke of Anhalt- Köthen ( born September 20, 1802 in Köthen; † December 16, 1818 in Köthen ) was a minor, short-term Regent of Anhalt- Köthen from the family of Ascanians.

Life

Duke Louis was the son of Prince Ludwig of Anhalt- Köthen ( 1778-1802 ). His father died before his ruling brother, Prince ( Duke since 1806 ) August Christian. As the childless Duke August Christian died in 1812, Louis had formally been over ten years of sickly boy ( under tutelage of the Seniors of the total - Anhalt's royal house, Duke Leopold III. Friedrich Franz of Anhalt- Dessau ) succeed, he only until the 16 years survived.

Ludwig died childless in 1818 and was buried in the royal crypt of the church of St. James in Köthen. Title of duke and government went to his cousin Friedrich Ferdinand from the side line of Anhalt- Köthen - Pless.
