Louis de Crevant, Duke of Humières

Louis de CREVANT, Duke of Humières (* 1628, † August 30, 1694 ) was a Marshal of France and Governor of Compiègne, Bourbonnais and Lille. He participated in the Battle of the dunes and the Dutch War. In 1668 he was elevated to the rank of marshal. Along with François -Henri de Montmorency -Luxembourg, he has Philippe I de Bourbon, duc d' Orléans support in the victorious battle of Cassel in 1677.

He was one of the commanders in Reunionkrieg 1683 / 84th In 1688 he attacked the Spanish Netherlands. His positions there, he could not keep up because he had to retire after a defeat against a weaker opponent in the battle of Walcourt.

His wife Louise Antoinette de la Chatre he married on March 8. She was an influential lady in the court of the queen. The thus obtained access to François- Michel Le Tellier, marquis de Louvois was for his career of great importance.
