Louis Isidore Duperrey

Louis Isidore Duperrey ( born October 22, 1786 in Paris, † 1865) was a French explorer, navigator and cartographer.

Duperrey occurred in 1802 in the French naval service, and served initially as Marinehydrologe under Captain Louis de Freycinet on his expeditions to the South Seas with the ship Uranie ( 1817-1820 ).

Later he commanded even the ship La Coquille on its own reconnaissance trips in the South Pacific ( 1822-1825 ).
