Louis of Nassau, Lord of De Lek and Beverweerd

Ludwig Bastard of Nassau ( also Ludwig von Nassau -Bever Weerd, * 1602, † February 28, 1665 in The Hague) was Lord of Bever Weerd, Odijk and Lek.

Life

Ludwig (Dutch Lodewijk, called Lowys ) was born in 1602 as the illegitimate son of Prince Maurice of Orange and Margaretha van Mechelen. He received in 1625 from his father 's house Bever Weerd and the rule Odijk. 1627, he inherited from his brother William of Nassau- LaLecq the rule Lek.

It was in 1643 Major-General and Governor of Bergen op Zoom, 1658 Governor of 's- Hertogenbosch and 1660 as a confidant of Mary Henrietta Stuart ambassador in London.

Progeny

Ludwig married in 1664 Isabella, Countess of Hornes. From this marriage the following children were born:
