Henry de Nassau, Lord Overkirk

Henry of Nassau- Ouwerkerk ( Ndl Hendrik van Nassau- Ouwerkerk; engl Henry de Nassau, Lord Over Kirk, . * December 1640 in The Hague, † October 18, 1708 in Roeselare ), lord of Ouwerkerk and Woudenberg, was a Dutch military.

Henry was the son of Louis of Nassau -Bever Weerd, an extramarital son of Prince Maurice of Orange. The name refers to the castle Ouwerkerk on the Zealand island Duiveland. He stepped in very young Dutch services and distinguished himself in the Dutch War of 1672-1678, saved on August 14, 1678 at Mons Prince William III. of Orange 's life was in 1688, when that prince ascended the British throne, equerry and naturalized in England in 1689 and was given command of the English cavalry. At the beginning of the Spanish War of Succession, he led the Dutch troops. 1704 appointed him the States to the General Field Marshal. He then took another four campaigns under Marlborough and Prince Eugene, and died 1708 in stock at Roeselare.
