Louis-Urbain-Aubert de Tourny

Louis -Urbain -Aubert de Tourny (* 1695 in Andelys, † 1760 in Paris) was a director ( high administrative official ) in France in the 18th century, especially around the urban design of Bordeaux earned great merits.

The Marquis de Tourny was rebuilt 1740-1752 as director of the province of the port of Bordeaux, attach the quays of the Garonne and decorate with 300 symmetrically arranged houses. Originally a middle class family that were found Tourny also replaced the fortifications of the city by a landscaped ring road and created new gates and parking as well as folk garden.
