Louvre – Rivoli (Paris Métro)

Louvre - Rivoli is a station of the Paris Métro. It is located in the 1st arrondissement below the Rue de Rivoli at the northeastern end of the Louvre. It is operated by the line 1.

History

The station was opened as one of the first Parisian underground stations on August 13, 1900, one month after commissioning of the line 1. At that time she was still wearing the name Louvre. As part of the renovation work, she received 1968 of ornamental designs with replicates from the Louvre. In 1989 it received its present name, as well as direct access to the Louvre. The station Palais Royal was the same in the Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre renamed.
