History

The current breakpoint was opened as Loxstedt station with its own railway station building in 1847 along with the former railway route Bremen - Geestemünde.

Beginning of the 20th century Loxstedt was reported as long-distance traffic stop in the Reich course books. By taking the wrong in 1905 daily by running passenger pair Berlin- Geestemünde that held in Loxstedt, and three continuous pairs of passenger Leipzig- Geestemünde and Hannover- Geestemünde, two of which are in Loxstedt stopped off.

In 1926, a connection of the harbor railway lines of the fishing port Wesermünde was planned to Loxstedt station. Loxstedt should get it at a yard. The plans for a new port station were in 1933 topic at the Schinkel competition for architecture, but were not realized.

In 1966, the railway line was electrified. In the same year, the station building was demolished and downgraded the station to a stop with passing junction. This siding was removed at the line renovation in 2008.

There is a P & R facility with approximately 60 parking spaces as well as a regional bus stop are next to the platform in the direction of Bremen. The breakpoint was last modernized in the 1990s.

Traffic

Since December 2010, the line runs hourly RS 2 Regio -S -Bahn Bremen / Lower Saxony between Bremerhaven -Lehe and twist rings.
