The low density lipoprotein receptor -related protein 1 ( LRP1 ) is a cellular membrane receptor of the LDL receptor family. He is a dimer of a 85 kDa transmembrane fragment and one on the extracellular side of noncovalently bound, 515 -kDa fragment. LRP1 is a multi- ligand receptor, was first discovered as a transport receptor but has since been described as a signaling receptor.

One of the functions of LRP1 the apolipoprotein E - mediated uptake of chylomicron remnants in the liver.
