LS-DYNA

LS- DYNA is a simulation program that works using the finite element method and by Livermore Software Technology Corporation ( LSTC ), founded in 1987 by John Hallquist, was developed based on the previous program DYNA3D. In particular, non-linear and highly dynamic problems can be handled with this program. Especially because of its explicit algorithm has found the program in these areas Simulation widespread.

Functions

Particularly suitable areas of application are crash test simulations, and other highly dynamic problems. In particular for the automotive industry therefore provides LS Dyna - specific solutions such as various dummies ( dummies ), or the simulation of components such as airbags and seatbelts. Other applications include fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction and simulation of manufacturing processes (especially deep drawing). There are various non-linear material laws contained in the software package, where you can also integrate their own material laws where USER routine. In the Material Library over 130 materials and their physical properties are already defined what LS -DYNA particularly distinguished in comparison to other products.

About a free-access port applications from other manufacturers to LS -DYNA can be connected. Both the post- and the pre-processing is commonly carried out with the program LSPrePost, which is also marketed by LSTC. For optimization problems is the program LS -Opt available. In the current version of ANSYS also an interface for this program is provided.

Distributors

The manufacturer Livermore Software Technology Corporation ( LSTC ) distributes the program is not even in Central Europe. The German distributors of the software include the company CADFEM and DYNAmore.
