Lubicz, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Lubicz ( German: Lindow ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical location

The village is about 30 kilometers south of Stettin in Pomerania in an era marked by lakes and hills landscape. Leads through the village a main street of Widuchowa ( Fiddichow ), which is about seven kilometers away in the west, to Pyrzyce ( Pomerania ) in the east. Neighboring villages in the north Pacholęta ( Pakulent ), to the east Babinek ( Heinrichsdorf ) and in the south Kłodowo ( Kladow ) and Krzywin (reciprocal mountain).

About three kilometers west of the village, the railway Wroclaw Szczecin runs with the station Widuchowa ( station Wilhelmsfelde - Fiddichow ).

History

Lindow was first mentioned in 1312. In later Lehnbriefen it is also known as a patch or little town, but the more the story of a village.

In the 16th century the possession of Lindow was divided, the greater part belonged to the family of Trampe, the smaller of the family of Pakulent. In the 18th century the greater part had come to the family of Steinäcker, the smaller the reign Wildenbruchstrasse. To Lindow were counted in 1779 a total of 40 households ( " fires ").

By 1945, Lindow formed a rural municipality in the district Greifenhagen the Prussian province of Pomerania.

After 1945, Lindow, like all of Pomerania to Poland. Lindow was awarded the Polish name Lubicz.
