Lubowidz, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Lubowidz ( German Luggewiese ) is a village in the Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical location

The village is located in Eastern Pomerania around five kilometers east of the city Lębork ( Lauenburg in Pomerania ) on the southern edge of the Leba - Rheda- glacial valley.

Prehistoric finds

An Iron Age cemetery with 300 graves skeleton was unearthed at Luggewiese 1937-1939. Among the finds include a Imperial times amber rod, which was made in Northern Italy.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1437. In the 16th century it was partly in noble possession.

The north of the village situated valley was drained in 1779. In this framework, the residential places Luggewiese -Brück and Luggewiese - break were created.

1939, the municipality had Luggewiese 1131 inhabitants. Before 1945 the church belonged to the district of Lauenburg Luggewiese i Pom. the Prussian province of Pomerania.

In 1945, the village, as the whole Pomerania, to Poland.
