Lübs is a district of the city Gommern district Jerichower Land in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

The village Lübs between Magdeburg and Zerbst / Anhalt is located about four kilometers from the Elbe. The district at about 70 m above sea level. NHN borders the district of Anhalt -Bitterfeld, is 1476 hectares in size and lies partly in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve. The site slopes from the northeast to Elbaue gradually. A special feature is the " Lübser Heuberg " an overgrown with dry grasslands inland dune on which still occurs, the silver -lip, which is under protection.

History

The first mention of Lübs goes back to the year 975. Lübs has evolved as Angersdorf. These structures are still preserved today. Until 1937, the United Lübs and small Lübs were two separate communities

The community Lübs was until June 30, 2007 Part of the administrative community Elbe- Ehle Nuthe based in the city of Zerbst. After the change in the district Jerichower country on 1 July 2007 Lübs was co-managed by the city Gommern. The community Lübs was incorporated on 1 January 2009 in the city Gommern. About Prödel and Leitzkau Lübs is connected to the national road 184, more roads lead to Zerbst / Anhalt as well as to Barby ( about a yaw cable ferry in Zerbst district Ronney ).

Memorial
