Luciano Emmer

Luciano Emmer ( born January 19, 1918 in Milan, † 16 September 2009 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Emmer broke a law degree and was initially known through documentary films that he made in 1941 and produced; including some on art topics. With Enrico grass he had founded for the production of the "Dolomiti film". Until his death he worked in this area of his work. In 1950 he turned to the episodic film A Sunday in August to the movie in the style of neo-realism. The three follow-up films, including The Three from the Spanish court, found above average reviews.

In 1957 he was involved in the introduction of 10-minute television program Carosello, as their inventor, he is; the shipment in the advertising environment that experimented with new forms, animation and moderation, was continued until 1977. From the mid- 1960s, turned to Emmer especially the television work; also for German television, he directed ( The thieving twins, 6-parts series with Alice and Ellen Kessler ). In 1990 he returned with Basta! Adesso tocca a noi for the feature film back; it was the prelude to a rich compared to its other production output late work.

Awards

1951 Emmer received the Golden Globe Award for the documentary Pictura.
