Lucimara da Silva

Lucimara da Silva ( Lucimara Silvestre da Silva, born 10 July 1985 in Lucélia, State of São Paulo) is a Brazilian heptathlete.

In 2007, she won at the IAAF Championships South America in São Paulo and also won bronze in the 100 - meter hurdles. One bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro followed by a 31 place finish at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, she came in 17th with 6076 points and set a record from South America.

In 2009 it was stripped in the Americas Championships in Lima after a recently conducted drug testing had revealed a positive result for erythropoietin ( EPO), the gold medal. Because of this violation of the doping regulations, a two -year ban was imposed.

In 2011 she triumphed at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, thereby improving their continental record.
