Lucius Valerius Flaccus (princeps senatus 86 BC)

Lucius Valerius Flaccus († probably between 73 BC and 69 BC) was a politician of the late Roman Republic.

Flaccus was about 103 BC and praetor in 100 BC together with Marius consul. In his consulship he stepped back completely behind his counterpart Marius. As censor, he worked 97 BC working to increase the number of Italian residents with Roman citizenship. He was 86 BC princeps senatus, worked on an understanding with Sulla, eventually joined the party and secured 82 BC when Sulla Interrex election as dictator, for which he was rewarded with the post of Master equitum. Flaccus is then no longer mentioned. 69 BC, his successor as Martialis Flamen, Lucius Cornelius Lentulus Niger, introduced in the office, so he must have died no later than this year.
