Ludwig Gramminger

Ludwig Gramminger, also called " Wiggerl " Gramminger, ( born June 11, 1906 in Munich, † August 28, 1997 ibid ) was Bergwacht pioneer and belonged to the elite of the German mountain climbers.

He was a member of the Mountain Rescue since 1925 and coined this instrumental with. In the mountain rescue, he pioneered the development of the extension splint, the steel cable winch, the Akja and the technique of recovery from the steepest walls. He is the inventor of the eponymous Gramminger seat. Gramminger wore through his work significantly to the rescue of many people from mountain rescue. He succeeded the first sensational mountain rescue from the Hochwanner North Face in Wettersteingebirge and 1957, one of his most spectacular rescue operations with international participation in the North Face of the Eiger.
