Reception

The expressiveness and timelessness of his works, in particular his Eisenätzungen will not last achieved by Merwarts masterly technique, " Ludwig Merwarts show is dedicated to the exquisite Eisenätzungen. Picturesque peculiarities are printed brilliantly on the paper. Often the unique prints have more depth and power than their counterparts as panel painting. Fine overlays of monumental tectonic forms correspond with transparent smoky shades " ( Florian Steininger, Issued in Vienna, The Press of 29 January 2003).
