The Ludza ( lett ) or Lscha (Russian Лжа ) is a river in eastern Latvia and in western Russia.

The river rises Ludza the Great Lake in the same city Ludza. The upper course passing through swampy area to the north and forms for the 27 km border between Russia and Latvia. In the middle reaches of the river gradient is stronger, by dolomite rocks were formed some shoals and rapids. From this area the banks are mainly forested. Near the confluence with the Utroja ( Rītupe ) runs the railway line Pskov - Rezekne. The largest tributary is the Innitsa (right 91 km upstream of the mouth ).
