Lugenda River

The Lugenda is a river in Mozambique. It is the largest right tributary of the Rovuma.

It rises in the Chiutasee on the border with Malawi, crosses meandering to the northeast, the province of Niassa and the Amaramba Lake and ends at the village Negomano on the Tanzanian border in the Rovuma. 360 km of which it flows through the Niassa Game Reserve. Besides tourism, the Lugenda is mainly for fishing of great regional importance. He is surrounded by wooded grassland and has many rapids and side arms. The water level in the dry season usually very low.
