Luigi Pieroni

Luigi Pieroni ( born September 8, 1980 in Liège ) is a Belgian footballer.

Career

Pieroni played in the youth teams of RFC Montegnee and Standard Liege and began his professional career in 1999 at the RFC Liège in the Second Division. Three years later he moved to the First Division for Excelsior Mouscron, where he met with 28 goals scorer in the league in the 2003/04 season. He went to this season to France, where he first went two and a half years for AJ Auxerre in Ligue 1 on Torjagd. In the winter of 2006/07 season he moved to FC Nantes, but he could achieve only one goal in 14 games of the season there. The following season, the Nantes on loan him out for each half a year at RC Lens and Belgium for RSC Anderlecht. In 2008 he signed a contract with FC Valenciennes, but could not prevail here. He returned in early 2010 returned to his home, where he signed a two and a half year contract with KAA Gent. With the people of Ghent in 2010, he was vice-champion and cup winner.

As of 2004, Pieroni played in the national team of Belgium. In his first appearance on 18 February 2004, he was eingewechselst at 0:2 against France a few minutes before the end of the game for Wesley Sonck. On 1 March 2006 he makes 2-0 in Luxembourg his first of two hits for the "Red Devils ". In his last 24 appearances for his country on 26 March 2008 there was a 1:4 defeat against Morocco.

Pieroni is married and has a son.
