Luigi Trombetta

Luigi Trombetta ( born February 3, 1820 Civita Lavinia, † 17 January, 1900 in Rome ) was a Cardinal.

Life

He was ordained a priest in March 1844. He became a Doctor of Laws and worked as a lawyer at the Tribunal of the Roman Rota, the dignity of a canon of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, on 12 May 1897 Title of the Apostolic protonotary received participantium. Pope Leo XIII. took him on 19 June 1899 as cardinal deacon in the College of Cardinals. On 22 June of the same year he received the title Diakonia S. Eustachio. After his death, he was laid in his diakonia and buried in the cemetery Campo Verano. He was one of the cardinals without episcopal ordination.
