Luis Hernández (footballer)

Luis Arturo Hernández Carreón ( born December 22, 1968 in Poza Rica, Veracruz ) is a former Mexican football player. He is considered one of the most famous players and the greatest scorer in the Mexican football history. For the Mexican national football team he played from 1995 to 2004.

In Mexico, he played in several clubs: Cruz Azul, Monterrey, Necaxa, America, Tigres, Veracruz, and Chiapas, but he also played abroad, such as in Argentina with Boca Juniors. After 1997 he returned to Mexico to Necaxa, but switched in 2000 to the Major League Soccer Los Angeles Galaxy. 2002 ended Hernández his career and went back home.

His nickname is El Matador ( the killer ) because of its many goals scored. He also took part in the soccer world championships in 1998 and 2002. In the 1998 World Cup he scored four goals for Mexico. He also was charged with 6 -goal top scorer of Copa America 1997 Bolivia. Also known are his long, blond hair, his trademark.
