Łukasz Żygadło

Łukasz Żygadło ( born August 2, 1979 in Sulechów ) is a Polish volleyball player.

Career

Żygadło began his career in 1990 in his hometown at Orion Sulechów. In the 1994/95 season he played in the second team of AZS Częstochowa, before moving to SMS Rzeszów. With the Polish junior he won in 1995 and 1996 respectively to the third place at the European Championship. In 1997 he returned to Czestochowa, where he played in the first division team. In the very first season, he was cup winner and 1999 Polish champion. After the second place in the league in 2001, he went for a year to Czarni Radom. 2002 debuted the setter in the senior team. The following season, he was active in Skra Belchatow and in 2004 he won with Energia Sosnowiec the national cup. He then went abroad and first played the Greek first division club Panathinaikos Athens, before moving to Halkbank Ankara in Turkey. 2006 reached Żygadło with the national team, the World Cup final against Brazil. He then played in Russia in Kaliningrad Dinamo. In 2007 he returned for a season in the home and stood at Zaksa Kędzierzyn -Koźle under contract. A year later he was hired for his current club Itas Diatec Trentino. With the Italian team, he was vice-champion in 2009 and won the Champions League. 2010 Trentino succeeded the National Cup victory and the title defense in the Champions League. The next year, finally accepted the league title and the third win in the Champions League. The Poles reached with Żygadło 2011 respectively to the third place in the World League and the European Championship. 2012 was the setter Italian Cup Winners' Cup. With the national team he participated at the Olympic Games in London.

Social Commitment

Żygadło support his income from the sport for many years the fundacja Iskierka, a Polish foundation that cares for seriously ill children.
