2011 FIVB Volleyball World League

The 2011 season of the Volleyball World League was the 22nd edition of the competition. It began on May 27 and ended on July 10. Russia won the title for the second time.

Mode

The preliminary ( " intercontinental round " ) was held in four groups of four teams. The group winners, the three best runners and hosts Poland qualified for the final round. In the final round the teams were divided into two groups of four and played " all against all ". The top two teams from each group reached the semi-finals Final.

With a 3:0 or 3:1, there were three points for the winner and not the loser. In a 3-2 winner of the opponents received two points, one point. If two or more team were level on points, the order specified in the table on the following criteria: First, the number of games won decided the case of equality the ratio of the rates and in the end the quotient of the ball points.

The final round was held from 6th to 10th of July in Gdansk (Poland).
