2012 FIVB Volleyball World League

The 2012 season of the Volleyball World League is the 23rd edition of the competition. It began on May 18 and ended on July 8. Poland first won the title.

Mode

The preliminary ( " intercontinental round " ) was held in four groups of four teams. In contrast to previous editions of the tournament this year was conducted intercontinental round in the form of four tournaments, ie in each group met once on each team as the host against the other teams in its group. The group winners, the best runners and hosts Bulgaria qualified for the final round. In the final round the teams were divided into two groups of three and played " all against all ". The top two teams from each group reached the semi-finals Final.

With a 3:0 or 3:1, there were three points for the winner and not the loser. In a 3-2 winner of the opponents received two points, one point. If two or more team were level on points, the order specified in the table on the following criteria: First, the number of games won decided the case of equality the ratio of the rates and in the end the quotient of the ball points.
