1996 FIVB Volleyball World League

The 1996 season of the Volleyball World League was the seventh edition of the competition. It began on May 10 and ended on June 29. The Netherlands won the title for the first time.

Mode

The preliminary ( " intercontinental round ") was carried out in three groups of four or three teams. The top two teams in each group qualified for the Final Six. The two best teams in the Final Six carried out the final, the third and fourth of the group played for third place.

The Final Six ( June 24 to 27 ) as well as the finals on June 29 took place in Rotterdam (Netherlands).
