2014 FIVB Volleyball World League

The 2014 season of the Volleyball World League is the 25th edition of the competition. It starts on May 23 and ends on July 20. For the first time take 28 instead of the previous 18 teams participate.

Mode

From this year the teams will be playing in three divisions, and it must come to climb and descend. Each division has two stages - Preliminary and Final Six ( Division I) or Final Four ( Division II and III).

The preliminary ( " intercontinental round " ) is ( Division II has three) in two groups fought each with four teams. In Division I and II, each team plays two home and away matches against each group opponent. The group winners and runners, as well as the host and the winner of the Final Four in Division II will qualify for the final round of the Division I. In the final round the teams are divided into two groups of three and play " all against all ". The top two teams from each group reach the semi-finals Final. In Division II, the group winners and best runners-up play in the Final Four; in Division III are the group winners and runners after they perform two independent tournaments in the first round.

With a 3:0 or 3:1, there are three points for the winner and not the loser. In a 3-2 the winner gets two points, the opponent a point. If two or more Teams are equal on points, the sequence is defined in the table on the following criteria: First, decide the number of games won, in case of equality the ratio of the rates and in the end the quotient of the ball points.
