1997 FIVB Volleyball World League
The 1997 season of the Volleyball World League was the eighth edition of the competition. It began on May 16 and ended on July 5. Italy won the title for the sixth time.
Mode
The preliminary ( " intercontinental round ") was carried out in three groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group should qualify for the Final Six. Since the set hosts Russia only group was third, three teams from Group C and only one from group B. The top two teams in the Final Six carried out the final, the third and fourth of the group played for third place. Qualified
