Todor Aleksiev

Todor Nikolaev Aleksiew ( Bulgarian Тодор Николаев Алексиев, English transcription: Todor Aleksiev; * April 21, 1983 in Plovdiv ) is a Bulgarian volleyball player.

Career

Aleksiew played until 2004 at his home club Lokomotiv Plovdiv and then moved to Levski Sofia. In Sofia he won in 2005 and 2006, twice the double of national league and cup. At the World Cup 2006 Universal player reached third place with the Bulgarian national team. He then moved to Russia Ural Ufa 2007 Aleksiew went to the Italian club Famigliulo Corigliano, but there ended his involvement in early November. Instead, he played in Turkey Halkbank Ankara. With Bulgaria he finished third at the World Cup 2007. The following year he took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing, where the Bulgarians came to the quarter finals and thus to fifth place. After the tournament, the universal player of Lokomotiv - Izumrud Yekaterinburg was committed. 2009 ended the national team's European Championship in third place. Aleksiew was active in the 2010/11 season at Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor. He then moved for the third time in the Russian league club to its present ZSK Gazprom - Ugra Surgut. In 2012 he finished with Bulgaria in London on his second Olympic tournament in fourth place.
