Lumino

Lumino is a municipality in the district of Bellinzona, in the district of Bellinzona in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Geography

Lumino is located at the entrance of Misox (it. Val Mesolcina ). Further up the valley to get to the San Bernardino Pass. The community is almost entirely enclosed by the Grisons canton. It is drained by the Moësa. From Lumino a cable car takes you to the Monti Savorù (1000-1300 m). In Lumino is a stop for the SEFT / ferrovia Mesolcinese.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1168 as a locus Lugomini.
